In Search of Anti-Semitism, by William F. Buckley, Jr.
Continuum : New York, 1992
There ought not be an expectation that I'll rate this book by a man who will, until it is shown to be otherwise, stand as the most incisive, subtle, relentless and entertaining thinker of our time. Revealed in my reading of this monumental dissertation : I am a crypto-Judaic chauvinist, yes, I am, secretly dismayed that the definitive ( there seems now to be no more to say on the subject) precis of anti-Semitism was not written by Jew. This is not light reading, but it is Buckley and so it is extraordinarily rewarding. One's first thought upon finishing it is that it will no longer be possible to have a serious discussion of the subject with anyone who has not, at a minimum, read this book. Paul Kotik
